Black Ops 2 Zombie Mode Guide: Easter Eggs & Strategies

Work-In-Progress
Zombies Mode [General] – Tips & Strategies
- GET POINTS EARLY: The faster you earn points, the better off you’ll be in later rounds. The goal of every Zombies Mode is survival. Using points, you’ll be able to purchase weapons, perks, and open doors to reach new areas.
- MELEE EARNS MORE: Killing a zombie with a melee attack will earn you twice as many points as shooting them. It’s a good idea to whittle down a zombie’s health with body shots, then finish it off with a stab. Beware groups, this method is best used against a single zombie.
- GET QUICK-REVIVE: A very important perk. Find Quick-Revive early and purchase it. Online, it’ll cost 1500 points, but will only cost 500 if you’re playing solo.
- WORK TOGETHER: Don’t be a lone wolf. Stay close to your team, and call out zombies if they’re attacking from behind. The easiest way to die in any Zombies map is to let zombies get behind the players.
- USE THE MYSTERY BOX: While the wall-mounted weapons are your best bet for easy access to more ammo, the Mystery Box will provide some great options. If you get a weapon you don’t like, it’s always a good gamble to try again.
- UPGRADE WITH PACK-A-PUNCH: Once you have a weapon you like, save up cash for the Pack-a-Punch perk machine. These machines are tough to reach, especially in Tranzit. They’re also pricey, but very worthwhile. Check out our guide for finding the Pack-A-Punch in Tranzit below.
Zombies Mode [General] – Easter Eggs
Nuketown: Secret Song
- Note: To hear this song, you’ll need to find hidden collectible teddy bears. Below, we’ll go over the locations of the bears so you can hear for yourself.
- To interact with the teddy, crouch near them with your reticule over the teddy, and hold down the interaction button [X/Square] until a sound effect chimes.
Teddy Locations
- Map: Nuketown 2025
- Location:
- Teddy #1: The first teddy is found in a chair, in the wrecked bus in the center of the map.
- Teddy #2: The second teddy is in the backyard of the home with the Nuketown sign out-front. Travel through the house, and turn left and the shed at the edge of the map. Look for a narrow split in the fence to find this hidden teddy.
- Teddy #3: The last teddy is upstairs, in the yellow building opposite the sign. Climb the stairs and turn around to find a bunk bed, the teddy is on the top bunk. You might have to jump to interact.
- Once all the teddies have been activated, the music will start.
Tranzit – Strategies
How to Turn on the Power
- To turn on the power in Tranzit, you’ll need to get on the bus and ride it to the Power House. To do that, you’ll need to build the Turbine.
- To build the turbine, grab the mannequin from the central map, a toy plane’s wing under the nearby payphones, and a fan sitting by some seats near the window.
- Take each part, one at a time, to the workbench to build the turbine. With the turbine, you’ll be able to open doors that would otherwise cost cash to get open.
- Open the doors to the station and get on the bus. Just ride it all the way down to the Power House, the shed leading down into the station is just across from the bus stop, in a small door that’ll cost you 750 to open.
- Inside the secret structure, you’ll need to collect three items; the Circuit Board, the Switch, and the Zombie Arm.
- The Circuit Board is located in a lower inner circular area, sitting up against a stack of crates. The switch is on a computer terminal, right in the corner. The zombie arm is on the ground.
- All three items are located inside the brightly lit station. These items will cycle through several different spots, so look around. The area is relatively small, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find them all.
- Construct the parts, and flip the switch to start the power. New paths will open up, and new perks will be available for purchase.
Tranzit – Easter Eggs
Tower of Babble
Note: Before you begin, you’ll need 4 PLAYERS to complete this achievement.
- Beginning Tranzit, all four players will need to construct a Turbine.
- To build the Turbine: grab the mannequin from the central map, a toy plane’s wing under the payphones, and a fan sitting by some seats near the window. Take each part to the workbench to construct.
- Before going too far, you’ll need an EMP Grenade. These grenades randomly spawn from the Mystery Box. Collect at least one EMP grenade for later.
- Next, you’ll need to get to the Power Station. Open the doors to exit the Bus Depot with the Turbines, and board the bus. Wait until the bus makes three stops to reach the Power Station entrance, through a locked shed just across from the bus stop.
- Pay to open the shed door and drop down into the hidden Power Station. Inside, you’ll then need to turn on the Power.
- To turn on the power: collect the Zombie Arm, the Circuit Board, and the Lever. All three are scattered in the small Power Station. Collect them and attach to the power switch to turn on the electricity, activating the green lightposts around the map. These green lights work as teleporters now.
- Next, you’ll need to turn the power off. Just flip the switch again when the mysterious voice asks you to. Wait for the voice again, then leave using the Turbine to open the metal shutters.
- You’re getting closer. Now your team needs to find the Pylon, a large structure hidden in the cornfields between the Farm and Power Station. Leave the Power Station and head back to the Farm on foot, and enter the cornfields to your right.
- Before continuing, make sure you have an EMP Grenade handy. The Pylon is very tall, so just look for the structure poking out toward the sky.
- At the Pylon, now you just need to fight and wait. Waves of zombies will attack, until an electricity-zombie boss appears. You may need to wait until the beginning of the next round for him to appear.
- Set up two Turbines beneath the Pylon, and wait for the mysterious voice to order your team to kill the electricity-zombie. Make sure you don’t shoot it, instead kill it with an EMP Grenade.
- Now you’re very close! Leave two players with their Turbines near the Pylon, then send two other players with their Pylons away to the green teleporter lights around Tranzit.
- Go to the green teleporter lights at the Diner area, and one at the Bank area. Have both players set down their Turbines, and the achievement / trophy will unlock.
Nacht Der Untoten
- If you go into the Farm on foot, you can explore the cornfields. Beware, you’ll find devious little creatures that try to scratch your eyes out, but you’ll also find a very cool hidden secret.
- Deep in the cornfields, you can find the very first Zombie Mode survival map from Call of Duty: World at War; Nacht Der Untoten. The recreated ruin is just how you remembered it, just stripped down to the bare essentials.
- Treyarch is giving a wink to its fans with this hidden location, even if the Nazis are far gone. But, if you look carefully, you can find a special item in one corner with a desk — a piece of Tranzit’s massive “Tower of Babble” easter egg.
Secret Song
- Note: To hear this song, you’ll need to find hidden collectible teddy bears. Below, we’ll go over the locations of the bears so you can hear for yourself.
- To interact with the teddy, crouch near them with your reticule over the teddy, and hold down the interaction button [X/Square] until a sound effect chimes.
Teddy Locations
- Mode: Tranzit
- Location:
- Teddy #1: On a bench, in the Bus Station right near where you begin.
- Teddy #2: Found on the Farm, the third stop on your bus ride. Go upstairs and look on a blanket to find the bear.
- Teddy #3: The final bear is in the Town, located near a pool table inside a building where a perk can be purchased.
Tranzit – Perks
Pack-A-Punch
- To start, you’ll need the Turbine at the Bus Station.
- To build the Turbine: grab the mannequin from the central map, a toy plane’s wing under the payphones, and a fan sitting by some seats near the window. Take each part to the workbench to construct.
- Escape the Bus Station and board the bus. Ride it to the Power Station, or the third stop on the bus’ route. Access the Power Station by buying your way through the shed door directly across the bus stop.
- Enter the Power Station and activate the power.
- To turn on the power: collect the Zombie Arm, the Circuit Board, and the Lever. All three are scattered in the small Power Station. Collect them and attach to the power switch to turn on.
- Make sure to bring your Turbine with you. Place the Turbine near a door with a lightning bolt symbol. Remember this location, if your Turbine shorts out before you reach the next location, you’ll need to replace it or get a friend to help.
- Next, get to the Bank. Unlock the front door, then blow open the Vault doors with grenades or the Ray Gun.
- Inside the vault, you’ll find another lightning bolt door similar to the Power Station door. If your Turbine is active in the Power Station and correctly placed, the lightning bolt door in the vault will open.
- Down inside the bunker through the now-open door and look for three parts; the shell, the stool, and the battery. They’re all scattered around the small new area. Pick up each piece and construct on the nearby workbench.
- When you’re finished, you’ll gain access to the Pack-A-Punch machine! Choose your weapon, and kill zombies with ease.
Tranzit – Special Weapons
Galvaknuckles
- First off, you’ll need to access the bus at the Bus Station.
- Next, you’ll need to find ceiling hatch upgrade. The upgrade switches locations randomly, so you’ll need to check each spot until you get the hatch.
- Once the hatch is in your position, pay to open the door of the diner, and look in the back left corner for a pile of rubble. Above the rubble is a closed hatch. Look up to interact and you can add the open ceiling hatch part, netting you access to the roof.
- Double-tap jump to climb up the ladder to reach the roof. Turn around as you exit to find the Galvaknuckles for purchase against the wall.
- The weapon costs a steep 6000 bucks, but it’s worth it. Players have reported it’s an instant one-hit kill on zombies even up to wave 13. Not only is it strong, it’s very fast. Give it a try yourself, and report back on the results.
Jet Engine Gun
- Jet Engine: Once you’ve got the bus up and running, you’ll pass by the Diner after leaving the Bus Station and cross through a tunnel. This item will appear about halfway through the tunnel, to get it you’ll want to jump off the bus. It’s very large, for an item, and easy to miss. Just look for a large engine.
- Handle: On your way to the Power Station, you’ll pass through a farm with a large cornfield. Travel into the cornfield, dodging denizens, and you’ll find a hidden easter egg — the Nacht Der Undertoten map from CoD: World at War! Explore inside, the item appears on the stairs on in the far left corner behind a table.
- Wire: At the Power Station, you’ll be able to construct an electricity trap. Search the lower levels for the wire.
- Pressure Gauge: The final part is in a small cabin past the cornfields. It’s just on the table inside, you can’t miss it.
Tranzit – Achievement Guides
Fuel Efficient
- To complete this achievement, you’ll first need to turn on the power at the Power Station.
- With the power on, some devices in town will light up and turn green. These are teleportation spots, but using them isn’t easy.
- Travel through the fog and out of the safe zones to find denizens. These small monsters will run around and try to latch onto your head. If you can’t find them, try checking out the cornfield in the farm area.
- Let a denizen grab hold, then run toward the nearest green light. In the green light, the denizen will pop off and burrow into the ground, leaving a hold behind.
- Now, simply jump into the hole. You’ll randomly teleport to one of the green light locations, and unlock this strange achievement.
Undead Man’s Party Bus
- To unlock this achievement, you’ll need to find three special items hidden throughout Tranzit. There are three upgrades; the plow, the roof hatch, and the ladder.
- These parts will spawn randomly over four locations. Check out each location below, or in the video above.
- Attach the plow to the front of the bus, the roof hatch to the closed escape door on the roof, and the ladder at the back left exterior.
Bus Part Upgrade Locations
Part 1:
- To find the first part, you’ll need to construct the turbine to blow up a door in the Bus Station. To build the turbine, grab the mannequin from the central map, a toy plane’s wing under the nearby payphones, and a fan sitting by some seats near the window.
- Take each part, one at a time, to the workbench to build the turbine. Place the constructed turbine next to the double doors, right beside the workbench to access a new room. The part should be inside.
- Bring the Turbine with you, you’ll be needing it later.
Part 2:
- In the Farm, you’ll want to use the turbine again on a shed near the large barn full of crates. The part is right inside.
Part 3:
- This can be found either in the Town or the Diner. At the Town area, look for a shed outside with two double doors you can open with the turbine.
- If it appears in the Diner, look for the double doors in the garage. Both of these doors can also be opened by turning on the power in the Power House.
Happy Hour
- The first perk can be purchased in the Bus Station. Quick Revive costs 1,500 online, or500 solo. Take the perk, then look around the station for items, you’ll need them. To buy the second perk, you’ll need to create the turbine item.
- To build the turbine, grab the mannequin from the central map, a toy plane’s wing under the nearby payphones, and a fan sitting by some seats near the window. Take each part, one at a time, to the workbench to build the turbine.
- Next, spend 750 to open the doors to the Diner. You can buy Speed Cola for 3,000points to complete the achievement.
Dance on My Grave
- To unlock this achievement, play Greenrun on Normal. The perk required will not appear on Easy or when playing solo.
- To find your grave, you’ll need to die. But, a Tombstone won’t always appear, you’ll need a special perk.
- Collect 2000 points, and purchase the Tombstone perk at the Power House, located in a vending machine upstairs on some ruined catwalks.
- Now, you just need to die. After dying, wait for the next round and respawn, then simply return to the place you died. If you purchased the Tombstone perk, a grave will mark where you died previously. Collect it to regain all your lost weapons and perks, and you’ll unlock the achievement.
Thrustodyne Aeronautics Model 23 (Air Cannon) is one such item whose parts spawn at random spots on the map. You can only carry one part at a time, and you drop the part you are carrying when you are knocked down at that spot.
These workbenches you use to build these items are item-specific. They only accept parts of the items that can be built at that location and stay there until you have completed these items.
Once you have built an item, it can be repeatedly picked up by you and all members of your team from the workbench after they are destroyed, but Air Cannon (Thrustodyne Aeronautics Model 23) is an exception. You can also use these items to distract zombies because they will generally try to destroy these items.
You can only carry one item at a time. You will have to drop the previous item to pick up the next item from the workbench. Following are the items you can build in Black Ops 2 Zombies mode, followed by the parts required to build these items and their respective locations.

You will find all these parts in the starting locations. You can build this item and use to open the door that requires power. You can use that door to go outside and this way; you will be saving $750 which otherwise had to spend on opening the door. You can use turbine to power the Electric Trap and Turret items as well as open the Pack a Punch room.
At the Diner, Farm and Town map; you will need a turbine to open different doors. Furthermore, you can use turbine to turn on all perk machines. Turning on the perk machine will allow you to buy the perk, but you will need to switch on the power to use it. If you switch off the power, your perks stop working. Turbine will break after a number of uses even when it isn’t attacked by zombies.

You can use this shield to bash zombies. It has limited durability, and you don’t earn any points. It will break after a set number of uses, but it provides excellent defense, and you can use it to create a barrier. When you aren’t using it, zombie shield protects you from being hit by zombies from behind and surprisingly, this doesn’t affect its durability.
Turret
Map. Farm
Parts. RPD, Lawn Mower, Ammo Pouch
Parts Location. You will find the machine gun in house or at barn. Look for the Ammo Pouch in the living room or the kitchen of the house. Finally, you will find the Lawnmower around the sides of the house.

Air Cannon as the name suggests blows wind on zombies has limited durability. It has a gauge on top of it, which shows how high the pressure is. It has 15 seconds of continuous fire power, but it doesn’t affect the Lightning Guy.
If you increase the pressure to max, it will explode in your hand, and parts will scatter nearby. To avoid that you can allow the pressure to return to zero, it will make you move slower when it is out. You can gather the parts and re-build it from the items on the workbench. Only one member of your team can have Air Cannon (Wonder Weapon), and it is required for the Easter Egg.

You will find the Meteor and Nav Card at Bus Depot. The Meteor is in the hole in the wall at the Bus Depot. Pay $750 to open the door and immediately go left and look for it in the hole. You will need to crouch to pick it up. Nav Card is behind the Bus Depot. Again, take a left out of the door and walk to the window at the end of the Bus Depot. Walk along the side and look for the card on the ground.
You will find the table at the tunnel in one of the two locations. One is the walkway with M16 and other is the ‘S’ bend in the map. Walk around until you get a notification to press X. It’s on the left side of the tunnel if you head towards the dinner.
Alternatively, if the table doesn’t spawn in the tunnel, it will appear in the lower level of the room after the power room. On the ground, on the right side of the bridge you land on.
The Card Reader can be found in one of the locations. Either in the Town near the dumpster and box or at the farm house left of the refrigerator where a weapon can be stored on the wall.
Finally, Radio can be found at two locations. First is the garage at the diner, in the room with the car at the top of the file cabinet. You may have to jump to get this item. The other location is Nacht Der Untoten. Look for it towards the right of the building, on top of the bookshelf that was knocked over.

You will unlock Undead Man’s Party Bus achievement in Black Ops 2 when you completely upgrade your bus with all three possible additions in the Tranzit campaign. Let’s get straight down to business and find out all the upgrade parts in Tranzit Zombies mode.
Basically, to get this achievement you need to get three upgrade parts, which are hidden throughout the Tranzit maps. These three upgrade parts are: the grill, the roof hatch and the ladder. These items randomly spawn on four locations. These locations are:
Note. Before you upgrade the bus, you need to build a turbine. For that you need to grab a mannequin from the central map, a wing of a toy plane from the nearby payphones and finally, a fan which is right behind the workbench. Place them all one by one on the workbench and you have created a turbine.
Bus Upgrade #1
Location. Place the turbine you have created right next to the door to the right of the workbench. When the door is opened to the room, it will have inside the grill. You can attach this grill to the front of your bus. By doing this you will not allow the zombies to enter through the front window of your bus. Remember to keep the turbine with you.

Location For Missing Upgrade Part
Location. If one of these parts failed to show up on any of these locations, there is a 4th place you can check. The 4th spot is at the terminal. Go in through the bank vault area. Make a left and then right, follow the pavement to another locked door. Use the turbine to open that door and inside would be the final part if you do not have it already.
